Magma Maths

Magma Maths is an AI-powered EdTech company on a mission to improve maths learning in primary and secondary schools. Founded in Sweden in 2015, Magma Maths now supports schools in seven countries: Sweden, the UK, Ireland, Germany, the USA, Canada and the UAE.

The platform combines interactive pupil workspaces with real-time insights for teachers and trusts. As pupils work through problems, teachers can see their thinking as it happens, not just their final answers. This makes it easier to spot misconceptions early, give timely feedback and adapt teaching to each pupil’s needs. Built-in support in more than 140 languages, including text-to-speech, helps every pupil access the maths.

Magma Maths is backed by independent research and holds ESSA Level II certification. At Woodland Academy Trust, KS2 maths results rose by 8 percentage points after two years of trust-wide use, compared with 1 point nationally, and 96% of teachers reported a reduced workload. Schools also stay: more than 98% of partnerships renew.

The platform’s impact has been widely recognised. At BETT 2026, Magma Maths won three awards, including Company of the Year, and in 2026 it was also named Company of the Year at the MAT Excellence Awards.
