Dr Shannon Babbie

Senior Lecturer, University of Aberdeen
Dr. Shannon Babbie is the Programme Director of Inclusive Practice & Autism at the University of Aberdeen. A Fellow of Advance HE, Dr. Babbie brings a unique multi-disciplinary perspective to the learning estate, having served as a Director of Human Resources, a School Superintendent, and a Primary Headteacher. His research focuses on bridging the gap between academic theory and the "real-world" challenges faced by Estates and HR teams. As the founder of The Belonging Quotient (BQ), he led the development of a diagnostic framework that uses evidence-based design to support neurodivergent "spiky profiles". Dr. Babbie is also a Trustee for Autism & Neurodiversity North Scotland (A-ND) as well as Scottish Autism, and a subject expert in educational leadership and inclusive practice
