Harriet MacLachlainn is a final-year PhD researcher at the University of the West of Scotland. Her doctoral work examines the physical school environment and pupils' mental health and well-being. Harriet has a strong background in education and youth work, and her research focuses on working collaboratively with young people to explore the spaces that shape their daily lives. She is passionate about participatory and creative methods that position young people as co-researchers, ensuring their experiences and priorities guide both the research process and outcomes. A key focus of her final year is supporting young people to share their findings with those in positions of power, ensuring their voices influence real change in policy, practice, and design.
