Managing Director— Educator, Advocate, and Co-Founder, Diverse SPACE

Lorraine McAleer is a highly experienced practitioner and advocate in the field of additional needs, with over 25 years dedicated to supporting children, families, and professionals. A former teacher, she is the co-founder of Learning SPACE (2007), a specialist provider of sensory and educational resources, and Diverse SPACE (2024), a neurodivergent-led training organisation promoting understanding and inclusion.

Lorraine’s work is deeply shaped by both professional knowledge and lived experience. Inspired by her sister Emma, who has Soto syndrome, she has remained committed to improving access to effective support. At 38, Lorraine’s own autism identification further strengthened her insight and passion for creating environments where individuals feel safe and understood.

She holds a Graduate Certificate in Autism and continues to engage in ongoing training and research. Through her work, Lorraine champions empathy, personalised support, and practical strategies that empower neurodivergent individuals to thrive.
