Paul Nisbet
Paul Nisbet is a Senior Research Fellow and Director of CALL Scotland at the Moray House School of Education and Sport at the University of Edinburgh. CALL Scotland is funded primarily by Scottish Government to provide a national lead and services in Assistive Technology in Education. Paul has a background in electronic engineering and artificial intelligence and has researched and developed accessible and inclusive technology for many years. He works directly with learners referred to CALL for assistive technology assessment and support, particularly pupils who have physical access needs, dyslexia or literacy challenges; develops and delivers professional learning and resources; and is responsible for national initiatives such as SQA Digital Examinations, the Books for All web site of accessible textbooks and the provision of Scottish and Gaelic computer voices. Paul was awarded the University of Edinburgh Principal’s Medal for his work.
