Tania Mackie is Director of International Safeguarding and Digital Transformation at Lightspeed Systems, where she leads programmes, frameworks, and campaigns that support schools, education systems, and policymakers to respond to the real challenges of digital learning, particularly online safety, safeguarding, and the responsible use of technology.

With 25 years' experience in UK education, Tania's career spans senior leadership roles including Head Teacher, Strategic Lead for Digital Education, and Quality Improvement Manager, alongside specialist services in assistive technology, inclusion, and pupil support. These roles shaped her systems-level understanding of how safeguarding, curriculum, and technology must work together.

Tania collaborates with schools, local authorities, and policymakers to translate evidence and policy into practical change. She is a contributing author to a forthcoming book on AI and safeguarding in education. Based in the Scottish Highlands, she believes that digital transformation without safeguarding is incomplete.
