How do I get to the venue?
What should I bring to Learning Places Scotland?
We recommend bringing the following:
- Your Email Confirmation of your registration to speed up collecting your badge.
- A reusable water bottle (there will be water stations available to fill these up onsite)
- A way of taking notes (Notepad, Laptop, iPad etc), there will be lots of conference sessions offering lots of opportunities to learn!
- Business Cards, or a way of sharing your details with the peers you meet whilst networking. Get creative!
- Comfortable clothing and shoes. Business casual attire is typically appropriate. Attendees may wish to wear comfortable shoes.
- Questions and goals. Prepare questions for speakers, exhibitors and other attendees. Set goals of what you want to achieve from attending. Networking, learning, finding partners etc.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible/ what accessibility support is available?
Yes, SEC Glasgow is wheelchair accessible throughout, with step-free entrances, lift access to all upper levels, and trained onsite staff to support any needs. Key facilities include:
- Parking – the main multi-storey car park (10 Stobcross Road) has designated blue badge bays spread across levels 0–4, with an accessible walkway (59m) linking directly to the campus. Bays can't be pre-reserved.
- Wheelchairs – self-propelled wheelchairs are available onsite for independent use (advance booking recommended via the Wheelchair Request Form); you're also welcome to bring your own.
- Hearing support – a portable/fixed hearing assistance system is available on request.
- Accessible toilets – available throughout, including a Changing Places toilet inside the East entrance of the SEC Centre (Radar key required, available from stewards or the Information Desk).
- Sensory support – free sensory backpacks (fidget toy, ear defenders, feelings card, etc.) are available to borrow from the venue's information desks, plus Sunflower Lanyards for hidden disabilities.
- Assistance dogs – welcome throughout the venue (please flag this to the Accessible Booking Team in advance so a suitable area can be arranged).

Is parking available?
Main car park: The main option is the multi-storey at 10 Stobcross Road, G3 8GS, operated by Glasgow City Council. It's open 24 hours, sits right next to the campus, and has an accessible walkway (about 59m) linking directly across to the venue. Note it has a height restriction of 2m — if your vehicle is taller, you'd need to contact Parking Services for alternatives.
A few practical points:
- Parking bays (including the designated blue badge bays on levels 0–4) can't be pre-reserved.
- If driving in via Glasgow's city centre, you may be subject to the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) charge — worth checking your vehicle's compliance beforehand.
- There's a drop-off point at the rear of the SEC Centre off Stobcross Road for anyone just dropping someone off rather than parking.
